More than a God of good intentions

We’re in a short study of Psalm 91, homing in on what it means to trust the Lord.

“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.'” Psalm 91:1-2

To develop trust requires time getting to know God’s character.

We say we trust God, but often we really only believe He has good intentions towards us. Intention and follow through are not one and the same. Believing in His good intentions rather than believing in His follow through is the difference between not trusting Him and trusting Him.

Let that sink for a bit.

I had to wrestle with that one.

What can we do to increase our time with God? Find a way to increase it. Develop an atmostphere where you can learn God’s nature and His heart.
